Spencer is a native Floridian, born and raised in Miami, Florida. He grew up living the Florida "lifestyle" which for him was boating, fishing and diving in beautiful Biscayne Bay, The Florida Keys and the Bahamas. With every adventure he learned something new and as the years went by, he gained an understanding and respect for what makes Florida so special. South Florida was not the only place he called home. During the summers, his family would head north to Ocala, Florida and spend time at the family home on Lake Weir in Ocklawaha, Florida. Exploring the Ocala National Forest and spending time on horse farms was another of his passion's. His mother's side of the family is one of the early pioneer family's in Marion and Sumter County. The small farming community of Pedro, Florida is named after Spencer's great, great, great grandfather, Peter Boyer Perry, a Civil War soldier that returned home after the conflict a local hero. The town itself is only minutes from Florida's larget retirement community The Villages. The landscape and way of life of Central Florida was very different from South Florida, but it gave Spencer just another perspective on how unique this state is.
 
After graduating from high school, Spencer pursued his other passion which was baseball. He was recruited by numerous schools, but choose to play Junior College baseball at Central Florida Community College. After graduating with his A.A. degree, he continued his college career at Auburn University and Florida International University. He received is Bachelors degree in Sports and Recreation Management with special core work in Sports Merchandising and Promotion. He is also Microsoft IT certified with A+ and MCP certifications.
 
For 14 years, Spencer worked in the Sports Product industry, primarily in the fishing tackle industry. His career started in the manufacturing sector and branched out into sales and management. As the industry changed, Spencer focused more on the Promotional and Marketing side of the industry and branched out into other Sporting Goods sectors, doing more contract work for larger corporations. When he was not traveling,  he started taking his clients fishing when they visited South Florida. In 1994, Spencer became a U.S.C.G. licensed captain and was a part-time fishing and outdoor guide. Inshore fishing and airboat tours were his specialty.
 
In November of 2006, after a lifetime in South Florida, Spencer decided to make a permanent move to Central Florida where he now calls home.
